Here's a little drawing I worked up as a gift this year.

Website Update

Hello out there,
Little website update here: I've just thrown up a bunch of new images on the website. Check out new magazine illustrations, new comics published, and to-be-published. As well as a couple random, but worthy, efforts. Thanks for looking. By the way... if you have time, go outside, around dusk, and check out Venus and Jupiter in the southwest sky they're super-bright and close. You can't miss them.
Cheers,
-Micah

War of the Worlds

Hi gang,
This is the color cover for a volume of Graphic Classics that I had the privilege to work on. I illustrated War of the Worlds, adapted by Rich Rainey. It was a ball to work on. I'll post more when I know a solid release date for the volume. Cheers,

BABY!

Yup, we had a baby. Elizabeth Love Farritor aka "Ella", "Ella-bear", "Ella-pie", and "The Ellalator!" born on Sunday July 28th at 12:53 AM. 6 lbs 9 oz, and 18 3/4 inches long.
Thank the lord she looks like her mother.
Have a great one.

Ink. Yeah, I know.

This started out as a sketch of a helmet that was going nowhere. So I thought I'd ink over it, then I could blame the ink for not liking the finished project. But it kept growing, and now Ilike it. So I'm stuck now with some ink I like, and my next thought is...why not ink the next sketch? I'll have to see what happens there. Cheers,

The Tripod and the Geisha

Here are a couple recent offerings. I hope you like the tripod concept. The geisha and lotus are just practice, but I think they came out swell. Have a good week, folks, and I'll post more later.
Cheers.

a little more from Gaza

Finally, some shots of Samson in action. Surviving hell-fire missiles, and facing down Delilah.

A few pages from Gaza

These are some dirty pages from an upcoming anthology. He's hard to see, but in the third page, fourth panel, Samson confronts IDF forces. He is Silhouetted against their spot lights. Then he launches the bulldozer. Yup.

Second Christmas

This year, my family celebrated two Christmases. Dave was in Turkey, so he wasn't around for first Christmas. He brought me and Jodi back a great killim, a tradition in Turkey that really ties the room together. In short: this killim is for mothers, and children.
He also brought us back some Christmas tree ornaments, and he gave me a killer mersham pipe. Yep that's a labrador head, mouth closed gently around a duck. A great memorial to our late black lab, Papalo. Welcome home Dave and Merry Christmas.
Cheers,

Here's to Thursday

Here's to wives and sweethearts.
Here's to mothers and fathers,
Brothers and Sisters.
Here's to weddings.
Here's to friends.
Here's to those who we've lost and loved.
Here's to the brewmaster.

Ah, youth.

Anyone else read these bad boys when they were young? I found these at a resale shop today, and snagged all three for a buck. Excellent.

B&W and RGB

For your benefit to compare and contrast. Like, no like?
I dig black and white usually, but this came out pretty sharp.
Your thoughts?

Humble? yes. Suspicious? you bet.

Perhaps Humble has a little bundle of joy on the way. Not so much, a child, but a fragment of his soul, shaped fo clay and ash, incubated in manure, peat, and mandrake. Shadowy and fast, the Filcher watches his back, and keeps an eye out for loose treasures.

More of gods

Okay, I seem to have lost you, so here are three more pages of Trickster. I like these pages, but htey are incomplete. I'm gonna be adding stars to the skies in post production where needed. Otherwise, I hope you dig 'em. My diurnal comrades in my office get a kick out of them.
Cheers,
-M

Page two.

I was thinking, I love putting these out there for folks to see; but maybe I shouldn't post all of the pages. Seeing as how the book has yet to be finished much less, published...Well, a couple more won't hurt. In this scene the night creatures make thier case to the Great Mystery.

test page

This is a test page for a project I'm working on with a fellow Postcard's contributor, Matt Dembiki. Caddo nation story teller, Dayton Edmonds spun this yarn, and I have the duty to adapt it to sequential form. So here is a test for page one. Basically the nocturnal animals are gathering to council with the Great Mystery about thier lives. Lemmie hear it if you've got critique. I can see already I need to make the deer bigger...hmmm...
Cheers,
Micah
